In the valley of the Adour, between the hills of Lower Arblade, Vergoignan and Bernède, the COSSET HOSPITAL
is founded by the Templars Manciet, about 1118
Like all hospitals 13OO known before, it offered passengers the right heel (or Alberge). It was located on the path of the great pilgrimage of Saint Jacques de Compostela.
Around 1316, the Prior of St. Gilles joins the King Philip the Fair to build La Bastide du Cosset, which quickly took the name of Barcelon.
