CHATEAU DE LAVAUD (montbron) : Homepage bed and breakfast

A bed and breakfast situated in southwest France, Lavaud is a 19th century château on 10 acres of park and farmland bordering the Tardoire river. Lavaud sits a few hundred yards outside the small 12th century town of Montbron, at the boundary of the regions of Charente and the Périgord. The area has much to offer. Predominately rural, with fertile land, green rolling hills, and slow moving rivers, this part of France has been favored by man since prehistory, and is part of what today is known as “la douce France”. Prehistoric, Roman, and medieval sites dot the landscape, dozens of which are within hiking and bicycling distance of Lavaud. A large variety of recreational activities are also close at hand. 300 miles south of Paris, Lavaud can be accessed easily and quickly from Paris or London.
